The Libertine Restaurant

Located in the expansive vaults beneath The Royal Exchange, The Libertine emerges as the new epicentre of indulgence in the heart of the city. Occupying the site where the very first royal alcohol license in Britain was granted, the venue exudes a rich history of hedonism and mischief.

In the midst of the old Royal Exchange’s bustling atmosphere, which was erected in 1571 and drew merchants, heralds, and rogues from all corners of the city, the vaults under the Exchange became a hub for boisterous “tippling” after the day’s work.

The beautiful restaurant is available for hire, accommodating up to 70 guests for a seated dinner or 130 guests for a standing reception. Guests can indulge in delicious canapés while sipping refreshing cocktails and fizz in this historic setting.
