Get ready to hit the dance floor. The Motown Christmas Party in London is all about the music… Not forgetting the 3-course dinner, unlimited drinks, casino tables and glitter bar, of course.
OK, back to the music. The Motown Christmas party features a breathtaking, live 6-piece Motown tribute band. The evening is a life-affirming celebration of classic hits which resonate across every generation.
Expect doo-wop vocals, funky backbeats and brilliant live performances of the greatest music ever written. Martha Reeves, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson…
Everyone knows the songs, and nobody can resist dancing to them.
Dance the whole night away because the Motown Christmas Party takes place in London’s city centre. The Leonardo Royal Hotel, London City has excellent transport links — or just stay put, relax and book a comfortable room at the 4-star hotel.
Kick off your Motown Christmas with a VIP entrance on the red carpet. There’s a glass of Prosecco waiting for you. You’ll have plenty of time for photos before the doors open to a spectacular Motown-themed event space.
As you’re served a delicious 3-course dinner, our fabulous live singer entertains you with Motown classics, keeping things mellow while the all-inclusive drinks and the conversations flow.
Dinner has been enjoyed… and the evening has just begun. Our on-stage singer is joined by the full band, and this is your chance to shine on the dance floor. Once you’re on it, you’ll struggle to get off again.
If you can drag yourself away from the dance floor, check out the casino tables and try your luck at blackjack and roulette. Or you can visit the glitter bar where professional face painters will add extra sparkle to your evening.

Menus may change if certain ingredients are unavailable due to supply chain issues. We cater for all dietary requirements. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you a function sheet so you can let us know about them. If anyone in your party requires Kosher food, please get in touch. It comes via a separate caterer and incurs an additional charge.
The running order for this event is as follows:
7.30pm – VIP red carpet arrival with a glass of Prosecco
8pm- 3-course dinner and all-inclusive drinks, with live music
10pm – More live Motown music and dancing, casino tables, glitter bar
Midnight – Motown band finishes, recorded music continues
12.30am – Bar closes
1am – Carriages
Please treat the above as a guide rather than an exact schedule.
Is this a shared event?
Yes, the main party room is shared because it’s where all the music happens.
Will we have our own table?
Yes, no matter the size of your guest list you’ll have your own tables. You won’t have to share the table with anyone outside your party group.
Are drinks included in the price?
Yes. Wine, beer and soft drinks are included in your ticket price. They’re served from 8pm until 12.30am.
If you’d like to upgrade, you can purchase 5 premium drinks tokens for £30 + VAT per person. Each token is redeemable for a glass of prosecco or single spirits with or without mixers.
Will the hotel cater for different dietary requirements?
Yes they will. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you a function sheet. Use this to let us know the names and dietary requirements of any guests. We’ll inform the chef so that each person is catered for appropriately.
The only exception to this is Kosher food. This cannot be prepared at the hotel. It comes via a separate caterer and incurs an additional cost.
How much is the deposit? And when is it due?
To secure your booking, we’ll need a deposit of £50 + VAT per guest at the time of booking. The balance will be due 6 weeks (42 days) before the event.
Can I add additional guests later?
We’ll be as flexible as possible. Please let us know about any changes before 1st November and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Provided there is availability, we can add to your booking — although please bear in mind, we can’t guarantee this.
If you want to add guests, contact us on 0208 102 1105. We’ll let you straight away if there’s availability. If there’s enough space for additional guests, full payment will be required in order to secure the booking.
What’s the minimum and maximum number of guests I can book for?
The minimum is 8 people. The maximum number for this event is 300.
Is there parking near the venue?
There’s on-street parking near the hotel, although charges may apply. The nearest car park is Tower Hill car park, 50 Lower Thames Street.
What about public transport links?
You’re within easy reach of Tower Hill and Aldgate tube stations.
Tower Gateway DLR and Fenchurch Street Station are also just a short walk away.
Is there disabled access?
Yes – please let our team know in advance for any guests with accessibility requirements.
Is there a cloakroom? Will I be able to leave my suitcase there?
Yes, the cloakrooms at all our party locations are free. If you have larger luggage items, every hotel venue has a free concierge service. Leave your luggage with them and they’ll look after it securely while you’re at the event.
Can I stay at the hotel?
Yes, although you will need to arrange the booking. Unfortunately, we’re unable to do this for you.
